This popular benefit dinner and concert is always held on the last Saturday of July from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This year the event will take place on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the West Hall of the Bowie Community Center.

July Jam is a casual evening featuring a chicken tender dinner, provided by Golden Chick, accompanied by Texas fiddlin’ music from outstanding area performers accompanied by silent and live auctions and homemade jams. Additionally, the Bowie Community Development Board and Chicken and Bread Days Heritage Festival Committee work together to provide an old-fashioned bake sale and silent auction.

All proceeds from the evening benefit Bowie’s Chicken and Bread Days Heritage Festival Fiddler’s Championship Contest, which takes place annually on the first Saturday in October.
