The Bowie Police Department serves the community by protecting citizens and property, preventing crime, enforcing laws, and maintaining order. The department is comprised of two divisions:

• Field Services - Patrol, Criminal Investigations, and School Resource Officer units
• Support Services - Communications and Animal Control units

The City of Bowie is a Home-Rule Municipality that covers six square miles and serves a population of approximately 5,500 people. Our great city is situated in Montague County just south of the Red River and the Texas / Oklahoma state line on U.S. Highway 287. We are just 45 miles southeast of Wichita Falls and 65 miles northwest of the Dallas / Forth Worth area.
