Welcome to the City of Bowie Fire Department.


Bowie Fire Department was organized in 1882 and continues to serve the citizens of Bowie to date.




The purpose of the Bowie Fire Department is to protect the citizens and their property from destruction by fire and to provide rescue and ambulance services. This mission is accomplished by responding to and providing services at:

fire emergencies;

rescue emergencies;

ambulance emergencies and transfers;

and hazardous material incidents.

In addition to these emergency responses, the department provides these fire prevention services:

education;

inspections;

and investigations.

In providing these services , the department shall strive to perform:

without accident or injury;

within established procedures;

without delay;

in a courteous manner;

and within the operating limits of the department budget as prescribed by the City Council.
